Katherine (Katie) Dobry

She has over 20 years of dance experience in the styles of ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, and lyrical. She has trained under the direction of Lori Goodman (Western High School Dance Team and Alumni Team), Sarah Cincotta (BDC), Shannon Salemi (Director of BDC), Regina Gregonis (Villa Julie College Dance Team), and Samantha Levy (Stevenson University College Dance Team). Katie has taught since the age of 18 at the Baltimore Dance Center, instructing students of all ages in the styles of tap and ballet, jazz, and hip hop from beginner to advanced levels.  Katie graduated in May 2009 with her Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College), and now teaches Kindergarten at Logan Elementary School. While attending the institution on a full academic scholarship, she pursued her love of dance as head captain of the Stevenson University nationally competitive dance team. She has choreographed for the 2008 and 2009 national UDA competition, where her team took 12th in the nation. Katie’s love and passion for working with children and creating strong technical dancers ready for the larger dance world has led her into this career path and she hopes to continue for many years to come.  Currently, Katie is also the coach of the Stevenson University dance team.

Kathleen (Katie) Hopper

She has been dancing for over twenty years. She was a competitive dancer for nine of those years winning high scoring awards in the styles of modern/abstract, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, tap, production/line and lyrical. She has performed and competed in every category from solos to large productions. She was also a teaching assistant for seven of those years. She later danced with the professional dance company Baltimore Dance Attack for two years where she was also an instructor.  Katie coached the BDC youth competition team and choreographed for the teen team, leading them to many high scoring awards such as judge's choice. She is very excited to continue working with the dancers on their third year under UDA's name to lead them to an even greater competition season.  Aside from UDA, Katie was also the dance coach for a Baltimore talent agency, The Next Level Entertainment Agency, LLC.
